Bollinger La Grande Année Brut 2015
Bollinger La Grande Année 2015 is a vintage Champagne that reflects both the generosity of the year and the house’s structured, composed style. Produced only in outstanding vintages, it is built around depth, balance and timing rather than immediacy.
The warm 2015 season delivers ripe orchard fruit, brioche and subtle spice, carried by Bollinger’s firm yet refined structure. Extended lees ageing and maturation under cork bring texture and calm complexity, with freshness supporting the wine rather than leading it.
This is a Champagne that already drinks with confidence, offering completeness and harmony without the need for long-term cellaring. Crafted by Champagne Bollinger, La Grande Année 2015 is an assured choice for those who value maturity, clarity and purpose in their glass.

Reviews
Robert Parker - 95
The 2015 Brut La Grande Année was disgorged last year with eight grams per liter dosage. The wine has turned out beautifully, exhibiting a more muscular, old-school Bollinger profile in contrast to the unusually racy, fine-boned 2014 that preceded it. Wafting from the glass with notes of pear, orange oil and white flowers mingled with notions of mocha, toasted hazelnuts and fino sherry, it’s medium to full-bodied, layered and textural, with a dense core of fruit framed by chalky structuring extract, concluding with a long, sapid finish.
Vinous - 96
Bollinger’s 2015 Brut Grand Année is an intriguing wine in that is clearly reflects the decision to pick on the later side in order to avoid vegetal notes derived from the mismatch of alcoholic and phenolic ripeness. “Balance was hard to achieve in 2015,” Chef de Cave Dennis Bunner notes. “At 10% in sugar, the fruit was simply not ripe. We had to wait to reach the optimal window of ripeness.” Bunner also opted to increase the Chardonnay, so the blend is 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, as opposed to the more typical 70/30 blend, with more Verzenay than Aÿ in the Pinots. Dried citrus peel, sage, menthol, sage, tangerine peel and spice build with some coaxing. Light tropical overtones develop with aeration. There’s real density and textural richness here. This will be a fascinating vintage to follow. Stylistically, it is the complete opposite from the much more linear 2014 that precedes it. Dosage is 8 grams per liter. Disgorged: May 2023.
Bollinger
Champagne Bollinger is undoubtedly one of the most respected Champagne houses, with an outstanding reputation for crafting powerful and age-worthy wines of exceptional depth. Located in Aÿ, the house has been shaping the identity of Champagne since 1829 and is regarded as one of the region’s most iconic producers.
The vineyards of Bollinger are situated in some of the most prestigious crus of Champagne, including Aÿ, Verzenay, and Louvois. The house is renowned for its traditional winemaking philosophy, where every step of production, from oak fermentation to extended ageing, is aimed at expressing structure, complexity, and the unmistakable Bollinger style.
Terroir
La Grande Année draws from the most prestigious Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards of Champagne Bollinger, serving as a benchmark for power, precision, and ageing potential. With a strong focus on Pinot Noir from Aÿ and Verzenay, this vintage Champagne expresses the depth and structure of Bollinger’s finest terroirs.
The vineyards are located on well-exposed slopes with predominantly south and southeast orientations, allowing for optimal ripening in the 2015 vintage. Chalk-rich soils with limestone and clay components provide excellent drainage while retaining sufficient moisture, supporting slow, even maturation and delivering concentration, balance, and long-term complexity.
What others say after opening the bottle
I like that I can buy good wines here without allocations. The bottles I’ve opened were exactly where they needed to be. Jannes his advice felt honest and personal, which helped me decide. Delivery was careful and straightforward. K. Loesberg
I spoke with Jannes before ordering because I wanted additional photos of the bottle, and that gave me confidence. The wine was ready to drink. Being able to buy single bottles for the occasion instead of full cases suits me well. Everything arrived perfect. T. Driessen
What I appreciate most is not having to guess anymore. I prefer to buy wines that are in the middel of there drinking window. Jannes his guidance was calm and helpful, and the delivery was handled with care. J. Annaert
Jannes helped me choose for a special food pairing, and the whole process felt easy and trustworthy. I don’t have a cellar to store wines for years. Buying loose bottles in there drinking window is a big advantage. Shipping was good. B. Denruyter
After opening too many wines too early in the past, this feels different. The timing has been spot on. I like the freedom of buying without allocations and choosing single bottles. Delivery has been consistently good. R. Bontemps
The advice from Jannes made the selection feel personal, not generic. The wine I ordered for Christmas was exactly as expected. I didn’t need a full case, so buying individual bottles works well. Everything arrived safely and on time. D. Smits
Great to enjoy wines without second-guessing. Jannes his advice helped narrow things down, and I appreciate being able to order just a few bottles. Delivery is good, quick and well handled. W. Snijders
This suits how I drink wine now. I don’t want to wait years or buy cases. The bottles arrive ready, the advice is solid, and the process feels dependable from start to finish. A. van Kempen
