Gaspard Brochet

Gaspard Brochet is based in Écueil, Premier Cru in the Montagne de Reims, farming parcels across Écueil and Villers-aux-Nœuds. Production is small. In the cellar: native fermentations, minimal intervention, careful ageing. The focus is on individual parcel expression rather than house consistency — which is precisely what the Le Coq series reflects.

Terroir

Villers-aux-Nœuds sits on the northern edge of the Montagne de Reims, where chalk subsoils are layered with clay and sand. The chalk provides drainage and mineral tension; the clay moderates ripening and retains freshness. Exposures here are modest — less direct sun than the grands crus further south — which keeps acidity high and maturation slow. It is a site that rewards patience in the vineyard and restraint in the cellar.

Private Access, Without the Noise

Beyond the public selection, I occasionally source wines available in very small quantities — offered privately, or never formally listed. Through the Club Grandcru WhatsApp channel, these bottles are shared directly and selectively: mature vintages, single parcels, and bottles that never reach the open market. Early access is reserved for members.
